Arts and craft by children and young people aged up to 17 years

The Junior section is a great opportunity for schools, youth groups, pre-schools/nurseries and individuals to take an active part in the Show. With themes for 2017 including the UN International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development*, the local area and the Agricultural Show itself, there are a wide range of classes to suit all age groups and abilities. Opportunities for creativity include the use of many materials and media. And it's not just for individuals, last year there were a fantastic 18 entries for the Group project.

2016 was the best year yet for the Junior Section with 1,800 pieces of art and craft created by children and young people. Thanks go to the previous organiser, Jane Turner, and to all the teachers, youth leaders and supporters whose hard work ensures the success of this important community event.

* "International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development, seeks fostering better understanding among peoples everywhere, leading to a greater awareness of the rich heritage of various civilizations and bringing about a better appreciation of the inherent values of different cultures, thereby contributing to the strengthening of peace in the world" (United Nations) ,
