AGRICULTURAL SHOW

THANK YOU FROM THE CHAIRMAN

Well I must admit that at this time last year when I was looking forward to the show in my role as President which is a position you hold for one year after being invited to do so by the committee, the last thought that would have entered my head was that twelve months later I would be the Chairman of the committee and playing an active role in the management and planning of putting show day on.

I enjoyed myself so much as President that when the opportunity to be further involved arose I just knew I had to take it up. The lifeblood of all local community organisations are the people. These unpaid volunteers are all hero's to me and as such I thank each and every one of them that work within our organisation. There is much personal pleasure to be derived from being a volunteer and the satisfaction that you feel when you are part of the process and see the end results gives you a great feeling. With that thought in mind any of you willing to help in any way possible will be welcomed with open arms !!!

If you feel you would like to volunteer and be involved please contact me on 01772 780333 and we can have a chat about how you can help and make a difference.

We have various social events through the year which are all really enjoyable and if you would like more information on them and anything to do with the show please visit our website - glashow.org.uk or our facebook page where there is all the up to date information you might require.

Schedules and entry forms for all the sections can be found via the website but if you require a hard copy to be posted to you please contact me on the number above and I will send one out to you.

The mission of the show is to promote agriculture and horticulture in the wider community and this is something we strive to do with all the different livestock sections such as horses both light & heavy, cattle, sheep, poultry and all the horticultural classes. We are blessed that many people make the effort to enter and come along and show their animals or plants/flowers etc.

Of course we also have a large dog show, Wl/Crafts and also the children's section which receives huge numbers of entries. Something for everybody so why not think about entering something if you haven't done so before.

We also hope that you have a great day out and with various attractions on the show field this shouldn't be a problem. I particularly want to mention that if you have children we have a fantastic entertainment area for them where there are rides, face painting, climbing wall and many other things to do which are all unlimited. The cost for a wristband is £3 per child. Entry to the show ground is £4 for 12 - 16 year olds and free for 11 year olds and under. It makes for a very inexpensive day out for a family.

Finally a thank you to all our advertisers, our traders, entrants to the show, entertainers and most especially to YOU for reading the brochure, patronising the advertisers and hopefully attending the show ON SATURDAY JULY 9TH
